Never Give Up! - You have what it takes to succeed. Part: 1

Life is littered with diverse challenges that often commands us to give up. At other times, life will hit us hard with unfavorable outcomes or events that overwhelms us pulling us apart in various directions.

Life is a journey that requires inner strength and courage to surmount all the troubles of life.

Life’s journey is not for those that are easily frightened or the timid. You must be emotionally prepared to face all the challenges and storms that will arise on the journey.

The human propensity is to avoid challenges or to give up when confronted by obstacles, pain or oppositions.

There is usually no crown without a corresponding cross. For you to actualise your goal or dream, there is usually a process to go through. The ability to go through the process successfully qualifies you for the profit.

Henry Forth wrote that: “Obstacles are those frightful things we see when we take our eyes off our goals.”

Determination is the secret of overcoming life’s battles” – Frank Elijah Nnabue

The bible tells us that Jesus faced great challenges, betrayal and pain but he didn’t give up on his goal. He despised the shame because of the joy that is coming.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”. (Hebrews 12: 2 KJV).

Majority of people easily settle for a life of mediocrity and insignificance when they consider the sacrifice and the prize required to pay to attain their dream.

The people who succeed are the individuals who understand that their dream can only be achieved through perseverance and sacrifice, they see the potential shame, pain and rejection yet not put off or discouraged to give up.

Big achievements only occurs because individuals decided not to give up on their dream.

Thomas Edison's school teachers once declared that he was "too stupid to learn anything." He was later sacked from his first two main employment for "not being productive in his duties." When he started out as an inventor, he made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts trying to invent the light bulb before he eventually succeeded.

When a journalist asked him, "How did you feel to fail 1,000 times?" Edison responded, "I didn’t fail 1,000 times. I simply found 1,000 steps on how to invent the light bulb.

He persevered; he didn’t give up on the dream of the light bulb being a reality. He dared himself to find a way that his dream can be achieved and finally he found a way, confirming his detractors to be in the wrong.

For you to succeed in your dream, you must develop a mindset not to give up on your God given dream.

Apostle Paul went through severe challenges but didn’t give up. In his 2nd letter to his protégé Timothy, the scripture says:

For which cause I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day” (2 Timothy 1:12)

You need to be persuaded to withstand any obstacle or opposition that may arise!
